A tinted headlight or taillight changes the face of a car more than any other inexpensive modification. We apply automotive-grade film rather than spray, so it can be removed later without ruining the lens.
- Is tinting your headlights legal in California?
- A light tint is acceptable as long as the headlight still emits white or amber light and the taillight still shows red, and both remain visible from the distance the vehicle code requires. - Yes, because it is film rather than spray. It peels off cleanly and leaves the lens as it was — which also means it has been protecting that lens from rock chips the whole time. Sprayed-on tint, by contrast, is permanent and hazes under UV.
Film, not paint
Sprayed tint is permanent, it hazes under UV, and it destroys the resale value of a lens that costs several hundred dollars to replace. Film goes on over the lens, protects it from rock chips, and peels off cleanly if you sell the car or change your mind.
Keep it street legal
California requires headlights to emit white or amber light and taillights to show red, both visible from a set distance. A light smoke is fine; blacking out a taillight until it disappears is a ticket and a genuine safety problem at night. We will tell you where that line falls for your car.
