The conditions

• Applies to the retail price of work booked directly with Safety Prime Auto Glass & Tint through this website or by mentioning the code on the phone.
• Cannot be applied to work billed to an insurance company, and cannot be applied to, or used to offset, an insurance deductible. California Penal Code § 551(b) prohibits offering a discount intended to offset a deductible, and we will not do it.
• The regular price shown is the price we actually charge for that work, not an inflated figure. Discount is calculated from it.
• One discount per vehicle per visit. Not combinable with other offers.
• Estimates are estimates. The firm price is confirmed on the phone once the year, make and model are known, and before any work is booked.
• We reserve the right to withdraw the offer at any time; work already booked at a discounted price is honoured.

Why it cannot be applied to an insurance deductible

This is the question we get most, so here is the straight answer. California Penal Code section 551(b) makes it an offence for a repair business to knowingly offer a discount intended to offset an insurance deductible. It is a criminal statute, and auto glass is one of the trades it was written for.

A shop that offers to "cover your deductible" is either breaking that law or quietly inflating the price billed to your insurer to make up the difference — which is worse, because it is fraud with your name on the claim. We do neither.

What we will do instead: tell you honestly whether claiming is even worth it. Many windshield replacements cost less than a typical comprehensive deductible, in which case a claim pays you nothing and the retail price with this discount is simply cheaper. The insurance page works through that arithmetic.

On the "regular price"

California Business and Professions Code section 17501 requires that any price advertised as a former or regular price be the price actually charged within the previous three months. The regular prices shown on this site are the prices we actually charge. We do not inflate a "was" figure to make a discount look larger.
