What to have ready
- Year, make and model. This decides the glass, and the glass decides the price.
- Which glass. Windshield, rear window, driver's front door, quarter glass.
- Where the car is — and whether there is covered parking, which matters if it is raining.
- For a chip: roughly how big, and whether it is in front of the driver or touching the edge of the glass.
- For tint: whether there is old film to strip, which adds time and cost.
Why we ask for the year and model first. A windshield with a rain sensor, a camera bracket or an acoustic interlayer is a different part from a plain one. Anyone quoting a flat price before asking is quoting somebody else's car. More on what drives the price.
