If it is the windshield
The water appears at the glass line: a damp headliner corner where the A-pillar meets the roof, a wet A-pillar trim, or carpet under the dash on one side. It correlates with heavy rain or with a pressure wash aimed at the edges.
That is a urethane gap, it is workmanship, and it is a warranty call.
If it is a sunroof drain
Sunroofs are not sealed — they are designed to collect water in a channel and route it down four tubes hidden in the pillars. Those tubes block with pollen and debris, and the channel overflows into the headliner.
The tell: wet headliner near the sunroof rather than at the windshield, and water that appears while parked rather than while driving.
If it is the cowl or a door seal
The cowl panel at the base of the windshield has drains too. Blocked, they back up into the fresh-air intake and the passenger footwell.
A perished door seal wets the sill and the seat base rather than the dash, and shows up worst on the windward side after a storm.
What to do
Call and describe exactly where the water is and when it appears. That description usually identifies it before anyone looks. If it is our bond, we fix it under warranty. If it is a sunroof drain, we will tell you that instead of taking the windshield out again.
Need this done rather than explained? There is no shop to drive to. We come to wherever your car already is — your driveway, your workplace car park, an apartment lot, or the side of the road it stopped on — anywhere in greater Sacramento, with no call-out fee and no mileage charge. Give us the year, make and model and you will have a firm price before the call ends.
